GREEN TALENT: I WOULD HAVE BEEN A FOOTBALL PLAYER--JAMES JIBUNMA

Our Green Talent for today is James Jibunma. He’s an actor and model. He has graced nationwide billboards for brands such as Dangote Pasta and Pepsi just to mention a few.  Aside from acting and modeling, the Theatre Art graduate of Lagos State University (LASU) is a trained production and stage manager.

In this interview with Green Platinum’s Talent Advisor, Onwuka M. Onyeka, he answers exclusive personal and talent questions. Enjoy!

GP:  What year did you start professionally and how you started?

JJ: Started professionally in 2009. My first appearance was AK Media's 'Family Ties' and I played Mike Olayanju alongside Alex Osifo, Jude Orhuoha, Femi Brainard, Funke Akindele and a host of others. I had always had the nudge to impact and inspire through positive entertainment.

GP:  What do you think are the major challenges for budding and fast-rising actor?

JJ: There are a lot of challenges starting out in acting or modeling. Lack of effective industry regulation, the absence of minimum wage, little or no welfare and low budgeting for talents can be very challenging.

GP: What has been your driving force?

JJ: First, God’s grace. Secondly, the need to have a voice in the midst of noises.

GP: What book are you currently reading?

JJ: ‘The Power of your Mind' by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

GP:  What local meal are we likely to catch you eating at a restaurant?

JJ: That should be Vegetable Soup and Semo.

GP:  Who’s your favorite serving African President?

JJ: That should be Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari

GP: If you are not an actor, you'd be?

JJ: If I was not an actor or model, I would have been a Footballer.

GP: Does that mean your favorite sport is?....

JJ: Soccer, I love to play football.

GP:  My last question; if you were asked to visit one African country, which country would it be and why?

JJ: Egypt, I’d love to visit Egypt.

GP: Thanks for your time

JJ: Welcome always.
