GREEN TALENT: WE WOULD LOVE TO VISIT NIGERIA-- MELLY BOYS

We have white Africans. During the long phone conversation with the Argentine twins Damian Gerez and Alfredo Gerez , I concluded that they are Africans. They talk about their love for Africa, the collaboration with Nigerian artiste, music and lots more in an exclusive interview with Green Platinum’s Talent Advisor, Onwuka M. Onyeka.  Enjoy!

GP: Happy birthday to the both of you, how old are you now?
Melly Boys: Thank you and hello to everyone. We are Damian Gerez and Alfredo Gerez and we are 27 years old.

GP: Tell us a little about yourself and your country
Melly Boys: We are from Argentina, we live in the Banda city of the Santiago del Estero,  Argentina. We are urban music singers (reggaeton trap and urban Latinos)

GP: How does it feel being in a musical band with your twin brother?
Melly Boys: It feels good working together as a musical band. Music helps us feel great, music is life.

GP: How would you rate the entertainment industry in Argentina?
Melly Boys: The entertainment industry in Argentina is very big and highly competitive.

GP:  Have you been signed to any record label in Argentina?
Melly Boys: no, not yet, we are still working as an unsigned artist.

GP:  You once featured the Nigeria sensational Twin artiste T-Banks, what inspired that?

GP: Have you guys ever being to Africa?
Melly Boys: We haven't visited Africa yet. We would like to know Africa, Africa has a lot of nature and a lot of cultures.

GP: If you were given an all-expense paid trip to Africa, which African country will you consider and why?
Melly Boys: We'll like to visit Nigeria, it is a great country and its music is very good. We were looking at pictures on the internet of Lagos Nigeria and really liked it.We would also like to visit Kenya too.

GP: What are some of the major challenge you face as an artist in Argentina?
Melly Boys: There is numerous musical challenge for a rising artist here in Argentina. Our goal is to turn these challenges into opportunity and become a good example for the other young artists.

GP:  What are your 2-5 year musical goal?
Melly Boys: We are working this summer on our 12 songs. Our 2-5 years goal is to present our first album nationally and internationally. This is why we are working hard every day, step by step and humbly.

GP: Who are your role models?
Melly Boys: Our role models are Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Bad Bunny, Bryant Myers, Farruko Maluma and Nicky Jam.
